Food trucks in South Korea

A food truck is a small truck that operates as a restaurant. The height of the cooking area shall be less than 1.5 m (1.2 m) and the area shall be not less than 0.5 m*m and not more than 0.5 m*m.

A food truck is a large vehicle equipped to cook and sell food. Some, including ice cream trucks, sell frozen or prepackaged food; others have on-board kitchens and prepare food from scratch. Sandwiches, hamburgers, french fries, and other regional fast food fare is common decorative glass bottles. The advantage of purchasing a truck is that it costs less than opening a restaurant. Food trucks are gaining huge popularity worldwide because they are not only inexpensive but also almost free of charge when starting a business. Republic of Korea’s government legalized food trucks in September 2014 and numbers have continued to climb steadily since then. Many young people are trying to create food trucks, and products are becoming more diversified. However, it is not possible to operate food trucks everywhere. In the case of Korea, there is only a limited number of places designated by each local government.

Food trucks in Korea must report business reports to the local district office. All other food trucks are illegal, and they can be treated as general food restaurant. It can not be sold anywhere else, but it can be operated only by licensed facilities, tourist attractions, sports facilities, urban parks, and streams. A food truck with a legal license must have a business report in the truck. Not having business report can be considered as illegal food truck. The government is trying to cultivate legal food trucks. Republic of Korea’s government legalized food trucks in September 2014. In July 2016, the government reviewed the revision and decision to allow food trucks to move freely in order to ease the grievances of conventional legal food trucks.

Korean Government announced Food Resources Sales Procedure, Sanitary & Safety Management Manual for Food trucks in 2014.11.12 for the need to set up a business reporting process for the licensee and related agencied in relation to the new food truck sales.

According to the Seoul city council on July 18, the city council discussed ways to invigorate food trucks in the Seoul Metropolitan area by holding a conference session with related departments and food trucks. Edgar Daniel Nixon (12 de julio de 1899 – 25 de febrero 1987)​ fue un líder de los derechos civiles de los afroestadounidenses y sindicalista water bottle metal, el cual jugó un papel crucial en la organización del boitcot a las empresas de autobuses de Montgomery, Alabama en 1955. Pomiędzy 1964 a 1984 r. sześciokrotnie (w tym raz na I szachownicy) wystąpił na szachowych olimpiadach (najlepszy wynik: 1978 – VII m.), natomiast w 1970 i 1983 r. – na drużynowych mistrzostwach Europy. We wcześniejszych latach reprezentował Danię na drużynowych mistrzostwach świata studentów (trzykrotnie: 1961, 1962 i 1966), w 1966 r. zdobywając wraz z zespołem brązowy medal decorative glass bottles.

W 1961 r. zajął w Hadze II m. w finale B mistrzostw świata juniorów do lat 20 (co odpowiadało wówczas XIV m. na świecie). W 1969 r. odniósł jeden z największych sukcesów w karierze, zdobywając w Linköping tytuł mistrza krajów nordyckich. W turnieju tym uzyskał bardzo dobry wynik (11½ pkt w 13 partiach) i w końcowej klasyfikacji wyprzedził Ulfa Anderssona oraz Heikki Westerinena.

Najwyższy ranking w karierze osiągnął 1 stycznia 1983 r., z wynikiem 2445 punktów dzielił wówczas 4-5 miejsce wśród duńskich szachistów.

Geelong Power Station


The city of Geelong, Victoria, Australia was once home to two coal fueled power stations – Geelong A and Geelong B.

The first moves to providing an electricity supply to Geelong were made in 1898, with three separate companies vying for the right to operate in the city. Two of these companies merged to form the Electric Lighting and Traction Company of Australia, who built the Geelong A power station what is meat tenderizer and what does it do. The company was later taken over by the Melbourne Electric Supply Company, who remained the supplier of electricity to Geelong until 1 September 1930, when the company was purchased by the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. Geelong B remained for a few more years being used for peak loads only, but closed in 1970 due to the much higher efficiency of the new power stations in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley.

The Geelong A power station was located on the corner of Yarra and Brougham Streets in the city. It was erected by the Electric Lighting and Traction Company of Australia, who laid the foundation stone in March 1900. On 4 June 1900 the first power pole was erected in Geelong, on the corner of McKillop and Yarra Streets opposite the Jewish Synagogue. The work was completed by May 1901, and on 3 May a ceremony was held to switch on the supply of electricity to Geelong.

The power station was originally of 200 kilowatts capacity, and supplied electricity at 440/220 volts DC current. Equipment at the station consisted of:

Condensing water for the boilers was pumped from Corio Bay by electric pump via a cast iron rising main. The power station was only used in daylight hours, with the town run by batteries at night.

In 1920 the original equipment was scrapped, and a three phase 6000 volt 50 cycle system was installed, giving a total generation capacity of 10,500 kilowatts (10.5 MW). The new works included:

Three Peebles-La-Cour rotary converters of 500 kilowatt capacity was also installed to supply DC current for the Geelong tramways and older DC city supplies. The fuel used was Black coal from Newcastle that was brought from fuel storage yards some distance away. The station was converted to burn brown coal briquettes in 1931, with the stokers to the boiler replaced by locally produced ones of overfeed design. The use of black coal was phased out by 1937. After 1930 the station was transferred to the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, and was operated with one generator set out of service, giving a useful capacity of 7500 kilowatts best large water bottle, and an overload capacity of 9375 kilowatts. The Geelong Harbour Trust had also been responsible for the supply of electricity to the port of Geelong, with these responsibilities acquired by the SECV from midnight 13 June 1938.

The rotary converters ceased functioning on 17 July 1961, resulting in the DC current supply being terminated. This also marked the end of ‘Geelong A’ as a generating unit. However, the plant was retained until 1967, with the sale of equipment being carried out in 1966-67, and dismantling and removal planned to take 7 to 8 months. Sale of the building was dependent on the SECV Distribution Depot being moved to North Geelong, the conversion of older 6.6 kV feeders to a more modern 22 kV system, and the removal of the 6.6 kV switching structure and capacitor banks at old station. The building was sold at auction on 11 June 1970 for $45,000 to a Mr I. Watson acting on behalf of unknown company. Development plans were floated for the site throughout the 1980s, but it was not until Bay City Plaza shopping centre was built that anything was done. The facade of the administration block remains as part of the shopping centre today.

The Geelong B power station was of 30,000 kilowatt (30 MW) capacity and located at North Geelong on the edge of Corio Bay decorative glass bottles. It was also the largest power station in Victoria outside the Latrobe Valley. The plant was officially opened on 8 October 1954 by the Honourable J.W. Galbally, MLC, Minister in Charge of Electrical Undertakings.

Geelong B was a ‘packaged’ station from components imported from the United States of America and was erected under contract for the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. The contract included the supply and erection of buildings, boilers, generators, transformers, switchgear and coal handling equipment, and putting the station into service.

The power station was of unusual design, with no conventional boiler house, the boilers being out of doors except for the boiler operating face, which helped to reduce building costs. Each of the three boilers was connected to a generator of 10,000 kW capacity. Cooling water for the power station was drawn from Corio Bay, and most of the power generated was used by local industry.

The boilers were automatically controlled, and produced 110,000 pounds of steam per hour (49,900 kg/h) at 625 psi (4.3 MPa). Fuel was moved by belt bucket and scraper conveyors to the fuel bunkers, then delivered to the boilers by mechanical spreader stokers.

The fuel used was brown coal purchased by the SECV from the Wensley Brae open cut mine, just west of Wensleydale, but from 1960 better quality coal was purchased from a mine at Anglesea instead. (The Anglesea mine was then used to fuel the adjacent Anglesea Power Station that opened in 1969 and closed in 2015.) A third change in fuel supplied occurred soon after, with the boilers being converted to use briquettes brought to Geelong by rail from Yallourn.

By the 1960s the power station was only used to meet peak loads due to its high operating cost, and the station was closed in 1970 when newer power stations were opened in the Latrobe Valley.

The building known as the Powerhouse still stands today and in 2014 was the site of an arts project curated by Ian Ballis that decorated the once derelict building with many of pieces of art. It was opened to the public at the time. Rone was one artist who participated.

Leonaert Bramer

Leonaert/Leonard Bramer (alias: Nestelghat) (født 24. desember 1596 i Delft, begravet 10 gel belts for running. februar 1674 samme sted) var en nederlandsk kunstmaler, designer og en av få freskomalere i den nederlandske gullalderen. Malestilen var inspirert av Adam Elsheimer og Caravaggio.

I Italia hvor han oppholdt seg i en lengre periode, var han kjent som Leonardo della Notte (Nattens Leonardo) glass bottles, på grunn av sine mange malerier med nattescener.

Blant Bramers mange beskyttere og kunder var medlemmer av huset Oranien, men lokale kunder i Delft kjøpte også malerier i stort antall.

I dag er Bramer hovedsakelig kjent for å ha vært venn decorative glass bottles, inspirator og muligens læremester for Johannes Vermeer selv om Bramers og Vermeers malerstil var vidt forskjellig.

Bramer giftet seg aldri og fortsatte med å være svært produktiv inntil han døde i Delft i 1674, da en stor del av hans verk ble lagt ut på auksjon.

John A. Warren

John Albert “Honest John” Warren (November 10, 1904 – March 10, 1981) was an American football player and coach of football, basketball, baseball, and track. He served as the head football coach the University of Oregon for one season in 1942, tallying a mark of 2–6, and as the head basketball coach at Oregon for five seasons (1944–1945, 1947–1951), compiling a record of 87–76.

Warren was born in La Grande, Oregon and was raised on a farm near Helix, Oregon. He played on the Oregon Ducks football team in 1926 and 1927.

Warren coached high school basketball at Astoria High School, leading the Fishermen and its two stars Bobby Anet and Wally Johansen to two consecutive state championships in 1934 and 1935. In 1935, Warren was hired as the freshman basketball coach at the University of Oregon, where he coached Johansen and Anet who had enrolled at the school. Four years later, Johansen and Anet were the core of Oregon’s 1939 national championship team.

Warren founded John Warren Sporting Goods after purchasing a local hardware store in 1951. The store went out of business shortly after his death in 1981.

Warren died in Los Angeles on March 10, 1981 after suffering a heart attack on February 26, 1981 while on vacation in Mexico.
